What is your view on misanthropy
It basically means hatred for human beings and human nature, mistrust etc.

My suggestion would be if someone has bad experience one point, then this may be the result. But that's one of many assumptions. Just as why some humans have more love for pets than human beings.

But it might be for selfish reasons to shut people out aswell.

What is your view on this term?

I am unsure if this should be in "philosophy thread" though. Huh

If I thought everyone on this forum was real, I wouldn't be here.

Yeuch! Humans. Nasty, sweaty, sticky things.

It probably just relates to the 'I'm ok; You're not OK' life position. Or fear.

I moved this to the coffee house - someone can move it elsewhere if necessary.

I think misanthropy is kind of an overused or at least misused word. I don't know if someone can actually hate human beings completely. Humans kind of need each other so... hmm... I think being completely misanthropic would be pretty lonely.

I'm kind of a loner myself... I'm all about selective misanthropy. Wink

I'm afraid you aren't okay.

Hold your horses! You're forgetting the god bots. God bots hate humans. They think humans are hopeless and reprobate. They need god to function. Without god they are nothing. Ironically we've created this amazing world of science and technology. We've vastly increased our life spans because of it. We sleep in solid structures made of bricks and don't worry about our houses killing us in our sleep.

Theists are misanthropists (the hardcore ones at least).

8000 years before Jesus, the Egyptian god Horus said, "I am the way, the truth, the life."

Do you mean Greek gods? They weren't to fond of us humans.

Well, looking at the goings on in this world, all gods are misanthropes.

RE: What is your view on misanthropy
Well, it can be very anti social way of life. Atleast when it comes to not interacting with humans, which is pretty cool. Not trying to look down on others though.
I just read a poem about one who shuts himself in with his "Wisdom books" and despicing human nature. etc...
So it really was cool to just come out of the closet that way.
So i was curious to what you guys thought of the term.

PS: Sorry about the double thread, my internet connection and the fact that this was moved to a new thread without me knowing confused me, so my bad Smile
