Atheism isn't about being something, it's about not being something. Knowing that we are unencumbered by a particular set of irrational beliefs wouldn't mean anything at all to us but for the fact that so many around us are so burdened.

Yup, liberating. But it's not liberating because others are afflicted.

But if others weren't afflicted you wouldn't think twice about it. Other's aren't afflicted with a belief in fairies (well, not many anyway) and this, I suspect, is the reason we're not all in an Afairyist forum right now.
