What makes a sport?
If something is competitive does that make it kinda a sport? (not a huge sports girl except kendo, fencing, and ifl)

Re: What makes a sport?
Kendo and fencing are definitely sports.

Often people classify a sport as something competitive that requires athletic focus.

RE: What makes a sport?
While certainly competitive, chess is not a sport. A sport requires physicality. So that excludes poker, Settlers of Catan, and Scrabble, but somehow includes darts, bowling, and golf.

If chess is a sport, then Deep Blue (a computer) is an athlete.
