What purpose do we serve?
Simple question really. How to we contribute to the planet? Youve all seen the movie, if bees die then there would be no flowers.

What would happen to the planet if humans stopped existing? What is our purpose in the grand scheme of things?

Maybe it's to control the population of other animals and trees? Would the planet be overrun with grass, trees, tigers and bears etc if we weren't here?

Maybe this is where religion comes In.. People can't handle the fact that we are more of a detriment to the planet than an asset?

According to George Carlin, we're here because the earth wanted plastic. Now that we've given the earth plastic it can shake us off like a bad case of fleas.

"How do we contribute to the planet?"

Very close, but it's the wrong question.

"How do I contribute to the planet?"

The answer to that question is much more easily attainable, and I'd argue matters much more than your original version. Yes

But now I have come to believe that the whole world is an enigma, a harmless enigma that is made terrible by our own mad attempt to interpret it as though it had an underlying truth.

RE: What purpose do we serve?
I contribute to the well being of those select few I have chosen to place under my care and protection by making sure I'm prepared to take care of them when the planet inevitably goes to hell and shit hits the fan Tongue Nothing against everyone else, but the fate of the world is beyond my control. I'm not arrogant enough to believe I can create world peace or stop global warming.

I also continue to improve my civilian career and prepare my kids for this world in the event that my my pessimism is misplaced and the world as we know it still exists when they're adults.

But to give a more generalized answer, I believe that purpose varies drastically from person to person, and beyond our base survival needs is rarely rational.

Lol no.. I did ask the right question, you just decided to change it.

Like I said, if bees disappear then there is a massive impact to the planet.

If humans disappear what would the impact be on the planet.

I know. Blush

I was just just foolin about.

If we disappear, the planet would have a chance to heal.
