I actually doubt money is much used where he lives. Soon it will be since they just got electricity to town, usually that means that a food store will pop up eventually once someone is able to afford a refrigeration unit. But if you listen to his favorite things - fox meat will still have to be hunted and he still won't get any.

He lives in the day, at that age you don't make plans. You also loath trying new things. His main objective is to maintain what he has, and given the simplicity of his life, he won't have trouble doing so.

As you say, planning the future is for the young...
