First snowfall of the year. That means chili tonight! Of course, it will be better tomorrow, once it's had a chance to get to know itself, but we'll still gorge ourselves on it tonight. I'll bake a fresh loaf of bread to go with it.

Btw.......snow on October fourth is NOT cool. I am less than happy right now.

Sooo... is this your own beef? Because I am scared to make beef-y things right now Sad Chili sounds so yummy, it's frosty here.

I don't raise beef (yet), but it is from a neighbor.

If you don't want to use beef, try farmer sausage crumbled and cooked like ground beef. Gives the chili a smokey flavor.

Oh the horror!

I just looked in the fridge and it's barren and it's to late to thaw something!

Now I need to get inventive and see what I have in the cabinets, plus I still have tomatoes ripening (loooong summer this year) and squash and pears and grapes...

I have tuna in cans, I have cheese....rice....

I have beer, Hefeweizen yet!

Oh, and lettuce is already pickable in the fall (autumn) garden... and bok choy.

I'll survive, lol.

Any suggestions anyone?
