What's in a name?
I got to wondering why you've chosen the handle you have. Some seem obvious while others are a little strange.
I'll tell you why I've chosen Drunkin Druid.
It's a gamer name I thought of. I don't know how long ago.
Drunkin because I like alcohol and especially beer. I actually rarely get drunk but I get a kick out of the Newfie stereotype that we are all drunks.
Druid because of my Celtic heritage.
But here is the part I like the most. To be a Druid one must likely be drunk. It's my little private dig (not so private anymore) at the theist position.
What's behind your name?

RE: What's in a name?
Deerdra is a pronunciation of Derdriu, which I've used as my gaming handle for awhile now. It's the Irish Gaelic for Deirdre, which is a figure in a tragic Celtic myth. I took Derdriu because Deirdre was already taken and I didn't want to find another name. lol

RE: What's in a name?
When I read the title, I thought this was going to be a chat about our real life names. *sigh* Wrong again.

Anyway: Mine was chosen because when I was a child, my username is pretty much exactly what I thought life on other planets looked like. Because I was a really hard core kid and I actually pondered things of that nature. ^_^ I'm nearly obsessed with carnivorous plants. (Actually all plants, as per my current major.)

RE: What's in a name?
Well, if it's not obvious, mine is some not so clever word play on the ole' even Steven. But my name's not Steven. I didn't put a whole lot of thought into it, but it seems to have worked out okay. Drinking Beverage

But now I have come to believe that the whole world is an enigma, a harmless enigma that is made terrible by our own mad attempt to interpret it as though it had an underlying truth.

My name should be the most obvious.
