What's your guilty (movie) pleasure?
I didn't see a thread like this one here so I thought I'd start one. (There's one over in the music section).

My guilty movie pleasure is Snowbeast - a made-for-television movie from way back in 1977. Used to watch it at my Grandma's house all the time.

You can see it on YouTube for free. Wink

Underworld. I can't go by it when it's on. For some reason the thought of vampires and werewolves using weapons makes me chuckle.

When the wind blows.

About an old couple who have to live through a nuclear war, with a soundtrack by David Bowie.

Left Behind, with Kirk Cameron.

I wish I were kidding. There are two scenes that I really like.

In the first, just after the rapture, a pilot comes home to find, no surprise, his wife and son are gone. His wife apparently went to bed in her nightgown in the middle of the afternoon. But whatever. So he sees his wife and son are gone and he immediately knows why. He picks up her Bible and throws it across the room. Then he picks it up, turns to Genesis 1 and says, "In the beginning... Well, it's a little late for that." For an evangelical, the scene packs a powerful punch. For an atheist, I would say watch it as though it were real, the same way we suspend disbelief to accept Robert Downey building a metal suit that fits over his body piecemeal yet can withstand being both underwater and in outer space. Suspension of disbelief. Movies can't live without them.

The other scene is near the end, when the anti-Christ is revealed. Seriously, if you haven't figured out who he is the moment he is introduced, you're really slow. But it's a really, really cool sequence. I particularly like the exchange between the anti-Christ and one of his supporters, who has just been betrayed.

Betrayed Supporter: "Do you have any idea who you're dealing with?"
Anti-Christ: "Do you?"

...also Gone in 60 seconds, but I don't even feel that guilty about that.
