Every fundie will fall into two very vocal camps:
1) Those that see this as the beginning of the end of the world and oppose it, because they don't want the rapture to happen during their life times.
2) Those who expedite the whole thing, cuz "yay rapture!".

RE: What's your prophesy?
Short term:

Religion will continue to trend downward at an ever increasing rate, with them becoming the minority in more and more countries around the world.

Subsequent assholes will be elected into the US Presidency, Congress, and Senate continuing the era of absolutely no substantive change and ineffective one party rule.

Space exploration will continue to be increasingly done by the private sector, with massive innovation over a very short time frame. Much will be the same with robotics, 3D printing, and other emerging industries.

Hollywood will become increasingly irrelevant as China begins to dominate the movie industry, with China also offering Tax exemptions and less regulation many large studios will move increasingly large amounts of capital to China.

All television stations will look to emulate Netflix, within a short time all TV will be streaming services. Their will be "traditionalists" which will resist the change and go the way of Blockbuster.

Not-to-distant future:

Most if not all manufacturing jobs will be replaced with a combination of robotics and at home 3D printing, which will be in every home and insanely cheap.

Religion, facing extinction, will resort to it's oldest trick: Violence. This will be increasingly true of the Islamic countries, to the point of religious war on non-believers and a "Last Crusade" shall be waged to remove this cancer from the planet. A golden age of human advancement and cooperation will begin in earnest.

The world will continue to experiment with, then move away from, the increasing centralization of power realizing it's not worked out well any of the other bloody times they have tried it.

Robotics and increasingly complex "AI" will render most job in the industrialized world redundant with most if not all manual labor done by robots. The Japanese will, naturally, try to fuck them.

Gene-therapy and manipulation, nanobots, and other emerging technologies in medicine will hit a tipping point and advance to such a speed that we will have an entire generation of humans who will never know illness or disease and will be functionally immortal and free of genetic birth defects.

The first attempt to colonize another planet will end in tragedy. The second will be a roaring success and from there man will spread across the solar system. the Terra-forming of Mars will begin.

The American Empire will, like all those before it, collapse though for reasons unlike any other Empire.

Global warming will be curtailed by the technological innovation of mankind, and food production will increase dramatically. The weather will largely be under our control and the population of the world will skyrocket. Earth will become once more a thriving Garden World.

Long Term:

Mankind looks to other stars, looking to preserve it's self from potential annihilation the species will spread and populate many star systems. Our technology will allow the terraforming of planets in decades. Mars shall become a Garden World, and life shall flourish on Titan and Europa and a dozen other places within our solar system.

The last person will taste death in any form, and it shall be a murder: the last that ever will be. Poverty, war, and violence will be viewed on the same way as human sacrifice is by us now: an ignorance of barbaric ancestors.

Some asshole will try to build the universes most advanced sex toy and accidentally destroy reality. God-fucking-damnit Japan.

When valour preys on reason, it eats the sword it fights with.

1: To prophesy is to speak for god, you're too sane to qualify. Tongue

2: I'll be too dead to care. Wink
