RE: What was your 1st computer and the games you played.
Technically probably Reader Rabbit or Math Rabbit my father put me playing on our dos computer.
Beyond that for legit games it may have been something like Oregon Trail, A police game, or a shooter game. I don't remember their names. I may of played an Atari game my older brother had but I don't remember any moments of it other than watching others play that. "Love is hot, Truth is molten!" |

RE: What was your 1st computer and the games you played.
I started 'playing' with computers in 1975, when PCs hadn't been invented yet. So my 'playing' was coding and debugging Burroughs L series and B series 'mini computers' (the size of a whole desk or closet!) in GP300 Assembler, and Cobol level 7 and 9, with punch cards and punch tape!
I was a (IBM) PC (office) user at work from 1983. My own first real PC was a Macintosh Plus ($3,995) with a 20MB external HD ($3,000) in 1985, and I've never looked back. After playing stupid Pong for 3 minutes in the late seventies, and mindnumbing PacMan and infantile SuperMario (Donkey Kong) for 2 minutes each in 1981/82, I swore off 'games' on computers for good. Games are for children. For adults games are a waste of time. Time in which you can do so many other, interesting and useful things with computers. And, since 20 years, the interwebz. |

Games development pushes the absolute edge of what a PC can do - how can you not respond to that? Sure fine, assembler is all cool, but a well made game with 3d graphics and shit - I still remember something like ten years ago with Counterstrike, shooting a computer to pieces and they had a frikken fan and a hard-drive in there. That's art man, attention to detail, and fine art. I haven't gamed much lately but games have only gotten more intricate and cool.

Coleco Vision. I played Paint all the time at 3 years old =p Then I got into the Atari 2600
I'm not a non believer, I believe in the possibility of anything. I just don't let the actuality of something be determined by a 3rd party. |

Strictly speaking, an Atari 2600, and I laid into Frogger like a boss.

A hahahah nice pic.
I didn't have my own computer when I was a kid because we were poor. But we had them at school and my friends all had them. I played Oregon trail, police and kings quest series, and most importantly I played leisure suit Larry. Name drop bitches!
