3 years til 40, I'm the same age as my tongue and a little older than my teeth.

I'll be 65 playing games and surfing the net, my body may fail but my mind is young Smile

When I got a lab test at 45 yo telling me I had the testosterone levels of a little girl. ... But it's all good, we got medicine for that.

RE: When Did you realize you were old.?
I am "only" 28 but I swear I feel old sometimes.
So here a little list of moments when I feel old:
- When I give good advice to someone, and they listen.
- Since I have a ring on the finger and people call me "Mrs"
- When children let me walk through the door first
- When I am not being asked for my ID in the offlicense shop
- Since I realized that I am closer to 30 than 20
- Since I am allowed to enter all places that have age restrictions (we have a pub near, you are only allowed at 24 years or over)
- When I do not understand the "young" people anymore. They do talk weird!
- When I notice the faults in the school system
- When I actually have a real opinion about politics
- When I try to study something and it takes me double the time, than 10 years ago, to understand new things
- Since I say "oh that was more than 10 years ago"
- When I see DJ BOBO, who I loved when I was a kid, and think "oh my god, what did I think back then!!!"

I feel a weird mix of old in my mind, due to all the stuff I experienced and saw, but still remembering things from when I was a teenager, feeling that wasn't so long ago.

My sister is 31, my brother 29, soon they will all be over 30 and it willl be my turn to become 30 then.
People call me Mister or Sir.

When young, attractive women addressed me as 'sir'.

Young attractive women talk to you? They all scurry away frantically if they catch even so much as a glimpse of me.

RE: When Did you realize you were old.?
When my mom was on her death bed she said to me: "Here I am, a young girl stuck in the body of an old woman".

Getting old feels like that for lots of people. As teenager, you are your body, it is your limitation as well as all your possibilities, you blame it for everything. Like no one likes you because your nose is too big. In your 20s, you should have grown into your body and function in harmony, whatever it may be like. In your 30s you are generally too busy with career or family to give it much thought, you only think about it much when something malfunctions. When you are 40, you still seem connected to your body, it's still you. You get middle age issues then, you realize youth is slipping away slowly. But you still identify with your body. By the time you are fifty, less so. When you are 60, you will stand in front of the mirror and wonder who that annoying old woman is who keeps appearing in your mirror instead of you. At seventy, the disconnect becomes bigger, your body just annoys you. (and it's not because your nose is too big). At 80, that darn body you have to lug around with you requires entirely too much maintenance. At 90, it starts giving you too much trouble to remain active. Then you start the decline...

This is if you are basically healthy. It seems like as you actually get older you start seperating from your body more and more, It becomes a smaller and smaller part of your identity. It's kind of interesting to watch, it goes that way for the majority of people and, given you are healthy, you slowly progress to welcoming death.
