Sorry, I am a Physicist and I think a lot about strings these days (as in String-Theory). Big Grin

LOL I understand. I dream about publishing papers on string theory one day.

uggghh. turns out it's not the same movie. I see a 2010 movie with Kiera Knightley. Not that I'm complaining about her.
n/m it is the right movie

Yes - Kiera Knightley is in it... forgot about her.
You might find yourself falling for little Carey Mulligan after this - she's cute as a button.

Good flick -like I said- bleak, but jaw dropping. Story might start out a little slow, but ... there's a reason ... what happens at first is ... eerie. Kind of eerie all the way through.
I enjoyed it. Big Grin

(of course you realize that I have no idea of your definition of a soul and how it is supposed to get into naturally-born children either).

But it is the church's position on clone-with-a-soul that really interests me (sounds like soap-on-a-string doesn't it?).

As I said, the only time I raised this question with a priest, he got very angry with me for asking it.

The church MUST have some kind of a stand on this issue because, sooner or later, it will come up, just like the "Eppur Si Mouve" debacle did.

It's bad move to have to apologize centuries later.

Jaw-dropping in fact!
I would like to tell a bit from the story, but I don't want to give any of it away. Discovery is a precious thing.
Guess you'll have to read it.... or see it...
They made it into a movie - Never Let Me Go - there's your next net flix rental, Germanyt!! Smile

I was looking it up on netflix before i even read the last sentence.

I now have 91 movies in my queue.

There is another movie that came out in 2005 that is about this exact subject that I don't recommend you go out and watch if you haven't seen. That would be, "The Island" starting Ewan McGregor and Scarlett Johansson.

It makes its own, just like the rest of us.

As it was in the beginning is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
And I will show you something different from either
Your shadow at morning striding behind you
Or your shadow at evening rising to meet you;
I will show you fear in a handful of dust.

What is a soul made of?

A collection of imperfect recordings of past experiences. Memories. Nothing more, nothing less.

I can live with that.

Atheists talking about souls? That's not allowed. Angel

Shouldn't there be some kinda definition from baseline in this type of query, Zat? Wink

I just see numbers. If I split in two right now, the instant number two references I; soul. Seems to me, what I am right now is a specific neural pattern; once I hit the send reply button and focus elsewhere, I won't be the same pattern. Likewise, number 2 ain't gonna fire the same neuron. Probability, ya know. Wink

Cantor, I was going to leave the definition to those who believe in the biblical soul. I am still waiting! Big Grin
