RE: Where should i start watching star trek
I personally love the beginning series of Star Trek.
I grew up with it. Great story lines. Good impassioned speeches. Humor & Drama. Plus you've got Kirk, Spock, Dr. McCoy, Scotty, Uhura, Sulu & Chekov.

For me every episode is a gem.

The Next Generation is very good, but season 1 looks very flat. They were just getting started so I don't hold that against them.

Later seasons, the cast and writing is much better, more jelled as seasoned acting / writing group.

I liked Voyager, but it could have done with a different female Capt. She was annoying as fuck.

DS9 was good too, but the later seasons with the Dominion seemed to never end. I also didn't care too much for the idea of life on a space station. No exploration. Everyone came to them.

Enterprise was my least favorite, but still not bad.
Again, didn't care for their choice of Capt.
T'Pol - Vulcan science officer - very hot

Insanity - doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results

RE: Where should i start watching star trek
Oh, I almost forgot a TNG episode that everyone should have seen, even if they're not sci-fi fans.

The Drumhead. You could not write a better examination of what it means to be human. Moves me to tears every time I watch it. This is science fiction at its best: a giant mirror held up to humanity, so we can get a good look at ourselves in a way that most other genres (ones less detached from our present society) cannot match.

Having watched a few videos of episodes I'd since forgotten, I realize that I learned a great deal of what I consider moral thought from Star Trek, particularly from Captain Picard.
