My exgirlfriend used to say ken (we don't say it in Glasgow, and she wasn't from here), and any time she said ken, I'd deliberatly ask "who's ken?" it would drive her up the wall. Big Grin

I started to say that I'm scratching my head why she left you.
But I remembered how many ex-girlfriends I've driven up the wall and decided to shut up. Dodgy

Who can't speak hieroglyphics?
We learned that the same year at school that we learned Greek, Latin, Olde English and Gibberish.
Who's ken?
Whet does "ken" exactly mean in the sentence? I'm asking because I see a remarkably resemblance to a Dutch word.

Ken means know.
So saying, "I don't ken", means "I don't know".

Interesting!

"Iemand kennen" is Dutch for "to know someone"
"Ik ken die dingen" is Dutch for "I know such things"

Very interesting. I know that there are Celtic links between Scotland and other parts of Europe. Dutch being a Germanic language, chances are It may be derived from whatever the Celtic word for "know" is.

same for german: "Jemanden kennen"

And about spellcheck, I keep ignoring the red underlining in my words.
What's much worse is that I am not looking at the keys while I write and the faster I write the more typos I have because I can't always hit the right key when I write fast. I love the backspace more than anything else.
