Keep in mind abandoned means that the people legally allowed and supposed to be there are gone. As far as other people and animals, not so much.

I chose Hospital.

Aside from being rotten (abandoned), and at night, it's an enclosed space, with many rooms with potential squatters. But unlike the other choices on the list, a Hospital has chemicals, needles, straps, etc. that can be sought after by said squatters, or just tossed and stumbled upon. Or medical wastes that's been stewing for god knows how long. Those are the sensible concerns. Forget about the "ghostly" crazed thoughts of all the people who've died there.

I see Mental asylum is winning. After watching House on Haunted Hill, I can see why. But I don't think too many were run by mad scientists.

I only chose mental institution due to all the things you mentioned and the bars are still on the windows. If you need to smash a window and jump, you can't.
