My Pick: Buckley. Dude was dead months later and sings it like he saw that shit coming. ... Cohen yet lives.

Cohen for the win. Buckley's interpretation is too hymn-like, and he picked not the best verses.

Cohen sings it with the irony he wrote in to it.

Maynard's vocals are epic, always epic. That band is perfect, Maynard is a vocal powerhouse, they handpicked Chancellor to complement Carrey and created a monstrous rhythm section and Jones shows remarkable taste and restraint compared to most 6 stringers with flashes of brilliance (there is a riff on the album cut of 3rd eye that makes me shiver).

My Pick: Nobody should ever ever try to cover this song. Not ever. Never. If the Grateful Dead and the Allman Brothers can't pull it off, neither can you. Tongue

I've probably head The Band version about a million times but I still get pissed when Pandora tries to play the Joe Cocker cover.

You beat me to it. First thing I thought of when I saw this thread.

So, less serious...

Vs.

My take... both are pretty ironic.

Cohen sings the irony, but Buckley realized it.

Good point.

Cover: Pentatonix & Lindsey Stirling
VS
Original: Imagine Dragons

Song: Radioactive
My pick is the cover, there's something just perfect about that violin solo by Lindsey

My pick: Floyd for the win. The ryche brings the intended heaviness and shadows fall kills it with the metal version, but for all intents and purposes the floyd will always hold dominion over this song. You just can't fuck with the floyd.

My Pick: I'm going with BrokenQuill here, that little girl with the violin bow scares the shit outta me, and the only other time I've experienced fingering like that is when my urologist is examining my prostrate.

Lindsey Stirling is awesome! I love her CD and have Crystallize for my ringtone.
