I agree with Green, Freddie Mercury is the best singer I ever heard. Of course that Pavarotti, Carreras and Domingo would be obvious choice, but opera singers are out of everyones league...

And here is someone you probably never heard of, but she is good as Freddie Mercury is. Her version of Ave Maria (religious I know) is pronounced best in history, so here is a sample for your ears only... Even the pope said this was brilliant.

Josipa Lisac - Gubec-Beg (rock opera):

And something else, a long, long time ago...

I would say Rihanna. She has a good voice variation which attracts the audience.

Rhianna's voice doesn't have any variation. She sounds the same in every song.

Ri fucking hanna? How can anyone throw her in the Freddie Mercury and Luciano Pavarotti class? Young or not, it is not an excuse! I waited to see the Battleship until I saw that Rihanna is one of the main roles there, so hell no I won't waste my time on such a shitty movie.

But then again, we are in luck that no one said nonLady Gagashit. There are no good voices today, there are only nice and sexy looking people. Or wannabe "freaks". Music is not music anymore, but a showroom.

Christina Aguilera has one of the best voices I've heard. Jeff Scott Soto is up there for rock and roll. Celine Dion, Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston.

I give the nod to Sarah Mclachlan.

And Rihanna and Lady Gaga are both good singers. Just shouldn't be discussed in a best voices convo. Filox you might be confusing them with Kesha.

Best of ALL time? No I'm not confusing them, they are lightyears from a Best of All Times category. Good, but nowhere near best. I would never even mention Keesha. Who is that anyway?

But wait, are you kidding with Christina Ag, or do you really thing she is in league here? I mean CA?

I... I want to argue with you, but Perfect Circle's "Orestes" is one of the most moving, tear jerking songs ever for me.

Off the top of my head...

[Range]
Myles Kennedy
-from the band Alter Bridge and the movie Rock Star.

[Emotional]
Tie: Neil Young and Justin Furstenfeld
-Neil is the critically acclaimed "best singer who can't sing," but just watching his performances, you can tell he puts so much into his songs that he forgets there's an audience.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dVC2cszdTao

-And Justin Furstenfeld (Blue October) seems on the verge of tears through most of his songs. Every time he performs the songs written for friends who overdosed, you would think that they just died before the show with the amount of emotion he puts into each performance.

[Power]
Steve Perry
-Steve Perry's voice once powered an entire city for a year. When Chuck Norris' fists faced off against Steve Perry's voice, the term "when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object" was birthed.

[Unique]
Axl Rose
-It's like the screeching of tires mixed with a thousand cats being strangled, but damn it it's good. And not a single musician out there can duplicate it.

[Personal Choice]
Chris Cornell
-I grew up with Soundgarden cassette tapes and 20 some odd years later, I still hold SuperUnknown to be the greatest album ever made. His voice is just so calming, nostalgic, powerful, and melodic along with 20 other adjectives that would be a disservice to list and break perfection down into imperfect descriptions.

Many excellent choices here. I love, love, love Justin Furstenfeld! He may not have the best voice in the classical sense but his voice, his delivery, and his lyrics are a killer combination. I have all of their CDs, his book, and have been to one concert. If you don't know what he was feeling when wrote the song after you hear him sing it, you weren't paying attention.

Neil Young took me some getting used to but I like him also.

Steve Perry could flat out wail...what a voice and range.

Axl...too bad his assholeness ruined his career as one hell of a belter.

I'm dead serious about Christina. She probably has the best voice to enter music in the past 15 years or so.

This is Ke$ha (fuckin no-talent whore)
