Anyway this morning I asked her if she likes Zeppelin.
Her answer was "who?"
I said no not The Who, Led Zeppelin. She had no idea what I was talking about.
That's fucked.
I think I can forgive someone for not being aware of some bands but Zeppelin? That like not being aware of Shakespeare...

Mmmmmmnnnah ... that's more like not being aware of Herman Melville.

Now, if she doesn't know who tbe Beatles are/were ... yes, THAT is akin to being unaware of Shakespeare.

May seem a subtle difference but, there it is. Drinking Beverage

Did Melville play bass? Or was it slide? Consider

I could go the rest of my life without hearing AC/DC, Queen, Kiss, or Van Halen again. I got burnt out on Stairway to Heaven by age 16.

However, Black Dog...one of my faves:

Well yea, Stairway is just the gateway drug. Once you're in, you go for Black Dog and ...

And maybe ...

I was going to post live versions of these - they really stand up in performance - but eh, visuals aren't necessary. Zep is pretty dynamic whether you see them or not.

Although ... I recall the first time I saw Page emerge from a smokey haze to play his guitar with a bow ... I realized how wonderfully wild the world is. Shy

The first Zeppelin album was the best, in my opinion. I keep that in my car and play it frequently. The rest, I'm really burned out on.

I wish they'd pruned the filler out of Physical Graffiti and made it a single album. And am I the only Zeppelin fan who doesn't really care for "Kashmir"?

Nursey already hit "Black Dog", but here's the other Zeps that I loooooove:

Wrong on both accounts. He harpooned a whale.

He is deformed, crooked, old, and sere,
Ill-fac’d, worse bodied, shapeless every where;
Vicious, ungentle, foolish, blunt, unkind,
Stigmatical in making, worse in mind.
