Should I take you seriously? I'm a 4th Dan domino Master and an OWSI.

OK then, call me insane... but there is a time to die (as gracelessly as possible, I hope).

The Old Man's Fire

Towards evening
as the dust settles on his worn and weary armchair
the glow from the fire
dances shadows
across his face.

Get up old man, get up.
Show me the shadows of your former self.

He stirs,
still staring at the flames,
as he remembers the flames of his youth.

Tell me of your life, old man,
let me live it from you.

In his flames, faces are lost and found
and places, where he could have rested
and in resting been content.
Some flames left their mark,
others faded.

Give them to me, old man,
for I do not want
to travel through your fire places.
Let me start where you finish.

He clutches death’s blanket close to him
for he expects death,
welcomes it.

Quickly old man, before it’s too late.
He turns his head slowly:
“I’ll tell you, boy, but can you hear?”

The fire tells us of his past;
the lively girls disguised as women,
the men he envied and admired.
The fire tells all,
But who can read another man’s fire.

So rest old man
And let the fire die.

Well, living forever old or as a zombie would not be that great, much prefer to be a vampire or stay 21 forever.

Sleeping/dreaming is one of my favorite things, but you have to wake up, to know you have slept.

But I could watch TV as a head in a jar forever, preferably with my oculus rift.

Theism is to believe what other people claim, Atheism is to ask "why should I".

Different physics would never be boring.
I would also create a machine that can travel to universes are exactly the same as mine, but I could be in different times, so I could time travel without creating paradoxes.
I would call it "Time and relative dimensions in space" .

DDC's "doctor me" has it's 50th anniversary today. The tv show is about a madman, his box, and his companion who is himself from the past. They are now selling dimondium optic drills as a novelty Item.
Me was interviewed on his decision to make this tv series, and he replied "I made it to remind me of something I'm fond of..."

I'd have to question the sanity of those who do. Why would anyone want to live forever? It would become hellishly boring after the first few thousand years... Confused

Call me insane too, then.

I've about done all I care to do and seen enough ugliness to last forever, dont like where we're at now and dont expect it to get better.

Just hope I die well, and then get a couple billion years rest of no awareness.

Who wants to live forever? Kids and fucking egotists. Dodgy

Usually I hear questions like this asking me to put a gun to my head. If I had one, I'd prolly used it by now. I hate being human, and living forever iff human identity = fuck that. There's some of my faith-based atheism right there; I have faith in math and being part of a joyous equation on an eternal tapestry. Like when my Gwynnies goes nova and devours I love. Heart

Has no one thought of the fact that everyone you love will just keep dying? How much of that can you take? I think it was mentioned in a movie or something.

Eternal life? Nope, I don't want it. I could end up being the last person alive and THEN it would be boring.

However, 100 extra years of youth? Yeap, definitely. As long as everyone else's lifetimes expand too.
