Duh. Angel

In physical terms evil happens due to entropy and finite resource. In theology evil happens from having to exist in a physical universe.

That depends. If god is omnipotent then, by definition, yes. If he isn't, maybe not and we can have fun conjecturing about the limits of god.

ReligionDiscussion - I'm tempted to go into this question with much depth due to years of theological training & religious observance - teaching people for over 7 years on this topic of how God allows evil.
However I abandoned the whole need for these explanations (called theodicy - justifications for evil in the world with a good God) due to lack of evidence and much better philosophies using reason & evidence. Basically there is no need for God as part of the hypothesis - it just causes contradictions and complications.

Read Bart Ehrmans "Gods problem" as an introduction to this topic.

We can come up with explanations such as free will being necessarily bestowed onto humans by God as a gift and God has to passively allow those free will choices to take place regardless if the consequences are cruel eg God allowing Nazi's freedom to do mass genocide (or choose whatever atrocity to fill in)
The above does not explain natural evils (the children dying on malaria every 45 seconds...and other mass tortures God does every day regardless of peoples faith, creed or race) Of course we have natural explanations for the above from sociology, biology, pathology, ecology, psychology etc and don't need God as an explanation.

Your entire diatribe hinges on an unestablished and unsupported premise that such a figure actually exists. Back up and start there, before you go speculating about the qualities of such a figure.

Why should anyone start with an assumption of a "god" at all? You have presented no evidence whatsoever that such a thing actually exists. Your cart goes behind the horse, not in front.

Quote: How could you operate under the assumption of an evil Creator? It would be so discouraging.

So thank you for admitting that you make up your deity as you go along, to suit your own fancies.

Making shit up as you go along is the thought process of a pathological liar.

You mean God could not create a system which doesn't follow the laws of entropy ?

Not everything subject to finite resources is necessarily evil. It is true that in many cases finite resources can lead to competition which can lead to evil actions - but not necessarily the case.

The Flying Spaghetti Monster created evil because the people he created were being all boring and getting along with each other. He felt they were getting on too well, and that was not entertaining enough for him, so he created evil because he thought it would be a good way to past the time.

The Flying Spaghetti Monster is a big fan of shitty reality TV shows like 'The Bad Girls Club', 'Real Housewives', and 'Mob Wives', so he created evil for entertainment purposes.
