Well what other purpose is there to attribute human qualities to a Godly being ?
If Gods don't have those attributes They won't be able to know what those attributes are and that is why we wouldn't have them.
P.S.When Gods have got those attributes They were not Gods yet.
Gods only continue to have those attributes when They become Gods/progress to become Gods.
The difference between humans and Gods is this: their attributes are in the state of perfection, ours are not yet.

May be. But then we are talking about false god. All intelligent beings/Beings have emotions. Why do Gods need emotions? May be because this way They can know what emotions are?

There is only one god that doesn't know any more what happiness is. it is Devil/Satan/Lucifer.
The moment when God can not have happiness any more is the moment when He becomes devil(death). The whole point to become God is to have ETERNAL HAPPINESS.

Nope not really many of the Christian fundamentalists make it sound like God has emotions.
The moment He stops being righteous He stops being God. He becomes Devil.
He worked very hard to become God, He was perfecting Himself. He became perfect. And perfect beings do NOT have desire to do evil/sins.
Gods obey eternal laws. As soon as Gods stop obeying eternal laws they stop being Gods.
This is eternal and true principle.
Earthly things are in image and likeness of heavenly things.

Emm.. that doesn't seem like the case at all if you don't accept jesus Christ as you savior and follow his rules you Go to hell.. and if you don't accept allah you go to hell and so on and so forth.
Please let me explain to you why it is important to accept Jesus Christ in order to go to heaven.
In order to go live in heaven(Celestial Kingdom) someone must to be perfect. In order to be perfect first of all someone has to learn how to be perfect. Jesus Christ is EXAMPLE and He teaches what TO DO to BECOME perfect like God Father and Him.
If you do not accept Christ you will not follow His instructions how to become perfect. If you do not follow those instructions you will NOT be perfect. If you are not perfect you can not be part of perfect world.

(21-12-2013 03:08 AM)IndianAtheist Wrote:  Basically if you don't drop your rationality and reason and accept bizarre unscientific stories you cannot achieve enlightenment and salvation.
In order to become perfect and enter Celestial Kingdom you don't have to accept bizarre stories. You may even have doubts about Bible. You may even reject flood story or the way Bible describes creation.
The only things that you need to DO to become perfect and enter Kingdom of God are:
1)have FAITH in Christ
2)Repent
3)Keep His/Christs commandments/follow His instruction by which you will learn how to be become perfect.
Rejecting creation story is not an obstacle for learning how to be perfect like Gods. But if you reject Christ you won't be able to do SOME or many important things that will help you to enter Kingdom of God Father.

(21-12-2013 03:08 AM)IndianAtheist Wrote:  Its like as if God WANTS everyone to do something otherwise he punishes them.. so why does God "Want" something ?
Why do you want something? Earthly things are in image and likeness of heavenly things.
God doesn't want punish us. But if you choose not to learn perfection in this life you won't be able to become perfect(God) in next life.

(21-12-2013 03:08 AM)IndianAtheist Wrote:  We want things because they are useful to us in our life what use is psychological control for an all powerful cosmic being ?
He wants us to become like Him. He gives instructions/laws - what we have to DO to BECOME like Him. But He can not force us to follow these instructions.
To force to do good/obey laws is EVIL THING.

Eh.. why does he need to sacrifice his son ? WHY ?

Egh.. do you understand that i'm asking WHY HE HAS EMOTIONS IN THE FIRST PLACE ?
1)Atonement is heavy doctrine. You have to be prepared to understand it.
2)I already explained why Gods need emotions.

(21-12-2013 03:08 AM)IndianAtheist Wrote:  saying "he loves" doesn't make any sense because God is NOT human and he doesn't have any purpose for them whatsoever.
Hmmm. When and to whom He said this? Who told that Gods have no purposes?
Gods or INTELLIGENT BEINGS that have no purposes is something that do not exist.
(21-12-2013 03:08 AM)IndianAtheist Wrote:  Why does he need children ?? we humans and other organisms have offsprings so that we can prosper our species.. God doesn't have any problem because he's eternal thus there's no logical need for him to have offsprings.

Gods have children because having children brings them happiness.
The more children Gods have the more They progress in eternity. The more worlds they have to create which I am sure is really fun thing to do.
Children bring more happiness to parents.
All earthly things are in image and likeness of heavenly things.
(21-12-2013 03:08 AM)IndianAtheist Wrote:  He can't have a desire either.... when you have EVERYTHING how can you have a desire for anything ?
God is EVERYTHING? What is this suppose to mean? How someone can be everything? Are we talking about some kind of magic?
Well, magic is something that do not exist in REAL world/worlds.

Congratulation! You are getting more close to the TRUTH.
Gods DO follow eternal laws. Every law in some way takes some of your freedom IF you CHOOSE to OBEY the law.

RE: Why does God have a desire or any emotions for that matter ?
According to the bible, there are only a few choice words that describe god. One could attribute these words, wrathful, merciful, etc, to an emotional being, but the bible also states that god is unknowable.

From what I understand of godhood, such a being should be well above such petty human emotions.

Of course, those of us who understand the book to be a poorly written piece of fiction also comprehend that it was written by fallible, primitive men. Therefore, the fictional god character reflects the minds of the men of that time who created it.

I'm pretty certain that there is no mention of "How God became God"

The bible starts with God "speaking" heavens and earth into existence -_- so nope there's no "Prequel" where Yahweh goes to God school you're proposing that Yahweh was born into a planet and started his life as a human in heavens which is total and utter B.S(bologna sandwich) as far as actual Scripture of bible is concerned he's mentioned as an eternal being.

Then you read in the Bible that God Son received glory and crown from God Father.
God Son received glory and crown that He didn't have before. This is PROGRESSION.
So, at least on God has progressed according to the Bible.
And in the Bible it said that God Son was doing everything He saw His God was doing.
Oh, where did you see a father who once was not a son?
To go from son to the father is also progression.
To cerate new world/worlds is also progression. God created/creates worlds.
If you read the Bible you can not miss all this.
Gods change from glory to glory(2 Cor3:18) To change from one glory to another glory is PROGRESSION.

You need to re-read NT. God Son or Yahweh was born on this Earth. And after He passed THIS school He could have His Father's glory and crown.
When Yahweh/God Son created this earth He didn't have His God's and His Father's glory and crown. He didn't have His throne in heaven yet.
Yahweh/God Son progressed.
And He said that He was doing what He saw His Father was doing also.
What did God Son/Yahweh did? He came here, He lived here, He died here, He resurrected here. And this is what He saw His God and His Father was doing(I assume in the vision God Father showed to God Son Yahweh about His(Father's) past.)

HELLO! God is Omnipotent and omniscient there's no logical way for God to "Progress" if you play a game with all the cheat codes turned on you're not really progressing in the game!
Quote:To go from son to the father is also progression.

These analogies are counterproductive when you consider that your God is OMNIPOTENT and Omniscient.

Either you'd have to say that your God is all powerful and all knowing OR say that he isn't you can't have both.

Omnipotence&Omniscience rules out any room for "Progression" and besides "Glory" isn't progression it is merely a honor given by humans.

Omnipotent God is God who can do everything He wants if or when He wants.
If He wants to have more progression(MORE GLORY) He can have it.
If He wants to create something new He can do it.
If He wants to have more children in the future He can do it.
If He wants to make Himself more happy He can do it.
Omniscient God is God who can knows about all past events/facts, present events/facts WHEN or IF He needs it.
He WILL know about any future event/fact when and if they happen.
Omniscient God is God from whom His creations can not keep secrets. Everything is in reach for Him. He can learn about anything and everything the moment He needs it. Or very soon.
