In many ways, its like asking "When did the Grand Canyon begin to exist ?"

The land and water had been there a very long time, but didn't take shape until relatively recent in the long scale of time.

If we could divide things into naturally occurring things and man made things, I think many theists would say that a god is not something that nature created, so for me, that means that any god is strictly man made.
