RE: Why was today a good day thread
Today (well technically yesterday the Ides of March) was both my birthday and Mothers Day.

I had family round and we spent much of the night enjoying each others conversation and company. I am a little tipsy as I type this.

Mum was pleased also as I had a special Mum cake made for the occasion.

Now sitting here with only my cousin left standing; watching Ricky Gervais stand ups. Oh happy times....

Yesterday... too tired last night to remember to write it:
Had two interesting lectures, one of viruses (a point of fascination for me) and the other on the evolution of altruistic and reciprocal systems in animal groups (which is not only fascinating but something I am already relatively aware of).
Got two of my text books, finally having that weight off my shoulders is nice.
And I ordered my graphics card.

Today... unless ... or until, the latest season comes to DVD for rent... I think I'm caught up on Sherlock. Heart

I went to the dentist and didn't leave in tears!

I made an appointment for a mani and pedi for tomorrow.

I got gas in my car and spent just over $40.

Also, I'm making corned beef and cabbage with baby carrots. Irish Soda bread pudding for dessert with dried sour cherries. Fresh whipped cream spiced with cinnamon.

Damn, I'm hungry just thinking about it all.

But as if to knock me down, reality came around
And without so much as a mere touch, cut me into little pieces

I found a place to do some interweby business... where people don't bother me... and the food doesn't suck.
They don't have coffee but ... nothing is really ever that perfect. Shy

Big Grin I'm out to a lot more of my coworkers as of tonight. Wow that feels better.

Just learned one of my charge nurses is an atheist. AND he's from Mississippi. He came out when he was 15...to a preacher. He said this was how he came out to the guy, "yeh, I don't buy it. You can have your fairy tales."

I feel a little less smothered.
