He isn't banned. He asked me to block his access to his account temporarily so he could have some time away and improve on his social skills. He felt he didn't have the willpower to do so on his own. Using the ban feature was simply the only way to block his access for two weeks that would reinstate it automatically.

I love how all unpopular opinionated undesirables are cursed with the "should-be permabanned" cursed. It's become a bandwagon to jump into the hate crowd and dismiss all plausible thinking. Giving out second chances and observing improvements (or failure to improve) isn't such a terrible thing to do, even if the person is a giant shitty baby.
