The president doesn't have the power to do the things he thinks it does. But he's too stupid to know this.

Check the scoreboard. Republicans control both chambers of congress and soon the Supreme Court. And read Paul Ryan's CNN article. Congress is going to adopt Trump's plans. It's practically the GOP platform now. They have complete control.

Are you like 12 years old? What's the deal with your pathetic immaturity.

Shakespeare's Comedy of Errors.... on Donald J. Trump:

He is deformed, crooked, old, and sere,
Ill-fac’d, worse bodied, shapeless every where;
Vicious, ungentle, foolish, blunt, unkind,
Stigmatical in making, worse in mind.

Control the Supreme Court? Only Scalia died, so it's a replacement. No one else has stepped down.

Two years there's another election and the senate is very close.

But as if to knock me down, reality came around
And without so much as a mere touch, cut me into little pieces

RE: Will America become a fascist regime?
The panic is premature. Not that there isn't a reasonable basis, but change can't happen with the speed that is being suggested here.
There is inertia to government, there are still all the judges in all the federal courts that there have been.
There are still Democrats and Independents in both houses of Congress.
There are still some rational and patriotic Republicans in both houses.

It is even possible that Trump will realize the magnitude of what has happened and rise to the challenge.

I'm not terribly optimistic, but it is not yet time to run around screaming that the sky is falling.

Skepticism is not a position; it is an approach to claims.
Science is not a subject, but a method.

You know that colossal immovable bureaucracy that gets in the way of real progress?

Now I'm hoping that very same bureaucracy can keep the worst of Trump's impulses in check.

That is super fucked up.

So how is the Senate and the House going to get Mexico to pay for that wall dipshit?

Who's going to bankroll the creation of the new regiments of Stormtroopers that are going to be needed to round up millions of people at gunpoint?

Who's going to replace all that cheap un-taxed labor once it does get kicked out of the country? Are you going to volunteer to be a day laborer, farmer, or nanny for $2 an hour?

Chas, with ALL due respect I entirely disagree. Change happens fast and with shock. There are too many historical instances to name here.

I will call him a liar and a dog here and now.

I'll never understand this extremist thinking that is displayed by the right and left.

By European standards Obama is a right wing politician and Trump is a fascist dictator.

We've had genuine fascists dictators in Europe.. And we generally also have a better quality of life than America because we have a good balance between capitalism and socialism.

So no, this is not an example of going from one extreme to another, just from the middle to the extreme.

Bernie Sanders is a socialist. You Merkins would have considered him something akin to a communist and far more extreme than Obama, so your statement even by American standards is wrong.

Change can happen fast, whether it will or not depends on Trump. Trump is largely incompetent and all he probably wants to do is swagger around on air force one without doing any real work. But Pence is the VP, will be doing both domestic and foreign policy and Pence is an ideologue. That's bad.

Maybe Trump will crumble because this will be far harder than anything he's ever done before. Maybe it will just turn to shit really fast because he can't read and doesn't think through any of the ideas and then tries to change the system to make it easier for himself but suffering from Dunning Kruger he carries on regardless. That would be bad.

Trump and Pence will almost certainly fall out as Trump ends up hating all his employees and Pence will resent Trump taking credit for everything and him getting the blame while Pence gets ordered around like a minion.

Will Pence fight Trump all the way with nothing getting done or will he manipulate Trump into getting what he wants?
