Without god everything is permissible ?
A common battle cry of ignorant fundamentalists is without god everything is allowed because there is no ultimate judge i have three massive problems with this statement

1. It's a positive claim that all things ought be allowed if there is no god i love and that if there is no judge all things ought be allowed

2. It ignores the fact that with god all things are allowed and no saying he never would command rape or that it goes against his nature is bullshit you can't know weather given the need to achieve a greater so called good he would command so or not i'll say this again HIS NATURE DOSE NOT MAKE HIS MORALS OBJECTIVE especially if there in anyway circumstantial or subject to contradiction

3. It assumes that morals should be commands handed down on one beings will or nature why should this be morality ?

The shit that god allows in the bible is so insane and contradictory that it makes the very idea of being judged by him ridiculous.

4. It implies that the person on the other end of the debate views themself as an amoral sociopath kept in line solely by the threat of eternal damnation. Not my first pick for the ambassador for The One Truth.

And all things are permissible. There's no physical law that will stop you from killing, raping or sticking your hand in a blender. Many of those things have obvious and dire physical or societal consequences so people don't do them. Often. The ones that do die or get locked away.

Oh, and most of those are repellent to those of us with the tiniest smidge of empathy, a handy trait to evolve for the social animal that wants to live in a tribe of more than one.

RE: Without god everything is permissible ?
Belief in a god that punishes after death for crimes the same god orchestrated as part of his plan, can lead to a great deal of injustice.

A woman is robbing a man with a gun to his head or is she about to kill this man ? Is the gun loaded ? Is this woman an undercover officer ?

Do you interfere or would interfering be going against gods plan ?

If you do nothing then you are willing to accept all kinds of immoral actions that harm people as part of gods plan. You will accept pain, death, torture as a part of a good plan as long as your "good" god is pulling the strings. It is your hope that good things will arise from all this injustice.

If you interfere with the intention of killing the woman so that god can judge her actions and punish her, then you and many others who believe as you do, could become a gang of murderers who kill anyone for even the smallest of crimes.

Adding a god into your mind only makes things worse.
We must observe and gather as much information as possible and act on it as quickly as possible.

False beliefs cause more harm.

A system of punishment and reward is no basis for morality.

Especially seeing as believers find it acceptable for their god to "punish" (torture) someone infinitely simply for the finite and usually involuntary crime of disbelief.

Owait, I forgot, people 'choose' that themselves because deep down they know god is real but reject him anyway.

Anyone can always do whatever they want if they're willing to face the repercussions. Cause/effect is a thing regardless of what one does or does not believe.

Raise a child by constantly telling it how great you are, and alternating love and affection with the threat of torture and death.

See how healthy and moral that child grows up to be.
