Women
Music has become a sort of shelter for me in this theistic world, and here are some of my favorite voices of women. I've been fortunate in many aspects of my live. I have been given all that I could ever need through inheritance of a successful business, I have had my eyes opened to the cruelty of the world, I lost my daughter at the hands of her mother and yet the voice of women in song touches my broken body and spirit. Sometimes it seems that music is all that I have.

Even the faithful . . .

Closer to Fine was the anthem of my grief over my Dad's death in 1989. The whole album, actually, but that song will always have a special place in my heart.

I don't think that I could think of a more beautiful album of contemporary music.

If you ever get the chance to listen to it, may I recommend Anjani's Blue Alert. She's been a back vocal for Leonard Cohen for a long time and while I'm very biased and am bound to like almost anything that has Cohen's name attached to it, I think she has a very soothing voice. (btw, the studio versions are much better, imo at least, but there are only live versions online).

And because not everyone's as cold and heartless as I am, here's something a bit more sentimental:

"E se non passa la tristezza con altri occhi la guarderò."
