We go to the local "FIVE STAR LOUNGE" in theaters here. Adults only, recliners, food brought to you, and booze. It's amusement park prices, but the seats themselves are competitive.

Re my review from the "rate the last film thread":

Wonder Women

Very good, I really enjoyed it. The best DCEU movie so far, (not hard I know), I would say its as good as a "top tier" Marvel Movie as well.

Highly recommend it.

One huge flaw: Schwaben was a pre-dreadnought, not a light cruiser.

Not having seen the movie yet.

But a name like 'Advanced Dreadnought' or 'Experimental Dreadnought' or 'Buzzword Dreadnought' seems much cooler for the characters to be saying. Big Grin

I remember an interview regarding the first Independance Day alien invasion movie.

Scrip calls for fighter jet to shoot rocket into mother ship.

SFX makers get different bits to 'make'. One group makes the planes from available references. Other group makes rockets/missiles from available sources.

Everything is put together under deadline.

Which is why an Ameican F-18 launches a French Exocet in the dramatic scene. Tongue

Nobody said "pre-dreadnought". I'm a military historian.

Yah.. but it would have been waaay cooler if they had said;

."Oh noes! It's the 'Buzzword Dreadnought' Schwaben!"

Which, presumably, our valiant Heroine goes off to vanquish.

Yeah fair point, this archetypal evil is the WWI German military. At least it's not Nazis or Hydra I guess? lol Facepalm

I don't know that I'd say they were depicted as stupid- but perhaps I'd be more sensitive to that trope if I were German myself.

At the beginning yes, by the end of the film, seeing as it was WWI, everything is shades of grey. At one point they even mention the Americans wiping out the Native Americans. The German General is depicted as evil but the average soldier not as much as say Captain America: The First Avenger.

Honestly this movie is one of the best WWI movies I have ever seen, let alone super hero films.

RE: Wonder Woman
Captain America was fighting Hydra, so they'd be all-out evil.

As for the WWI soldiers, Ludendorff was supposed to be Ares, and all sides were under his spell.
