Pressure has a lot to do with boiling; higher pressures result in higher boiling points and the same goes for lower pressures.
In a vacuum like space, water boils almost instantly.

The people closely associated with the namesake of female canines are suffering from a nondescript form of lunacy.

World economies are too intertwined. It's not profitable to wage war any more.
Money is an enormous incentive and if you can gain more by trading with your enemies where as war would decrease your wealth, than you're gonna trade.

One of the advantages of our global economy is the kind of nationalism that lead to the two major conflicts of the last century unlikely due to the economic impacts to all involved.

Um, yeah.

That is exactly what they said in 1914.

Just sayin'.

Israel has killed far more Palestinian civilians than both sides in Ukraine put together.

If you held your breath until we started talk of sanctioning Israel, you'd be dead in quite short order.

It's all political theatre.

Yes and if Mexico had been firing 500 rockets a day into texas the stars and stripes would be flying over Mexico City right now.

For all the settlement-building - sorry, filibustering - going on back in the day, the Americans, unlike the Israelis, actually stopped eventually. As we all know, Texas through California used to be Mexican.
(with some obvious differences, naturally - both the Americans and the Mexicans were itching to ethnically cleanse the actual original inhabitants of that end of the world)

But the American response to the border war in the 1910s was not to occupy Mexico City.

Times have changed. Do you really think a prolonged attack against a sovereign nation would be met with anything but retaliation?

I did not say that.
Jeez, man...

Massive indiscriminate retaliation does not work. It's not a deterrent, it's a provocation.

And this is what Hamas is finding out. Seriously though 3 weeks of rocket attacks would be justification for any military action by any other nation but Israel is supposed to ignore it?
