I suppose it depends on what we might find out happens after death.

If it is as we strongly suspect and have much evidence for, the brain ceases function, consciousness stops, and then the body begins the disintegration of matter... nothing changes. This is what we deal with already.

If we somehow discover that the consciousness lingers for a period after death, I think it would not do so for any great length of time.
Thinking about it more, it would have no way to do so - there would be nothing to contain and transfer the electrical impulses in the way the brain does. Any randomly generated energy per se, would have no place to be received.

If anything at all, there might be a slight dissipation of residual electricity - something like a static discharge which is eventually absorbed into the atmosphere. If anything, this would not be a lingering thing and it would have to take place immediately after or even during the brain's complete shut down process.

So really, nothing would change - we might confirm more solidly, that which most of us are already aware.

Life and death are connected to each other by the same processes of order and disorder that everything is subject to.

Entropy.
Best to get used to it now ... before it catches up with you. Wink
Right now we don't know what happens after death. If we found out nothing happens, that would greatly change the world.

People understand life ends at death. They try to make it more palatable by metaphors and such, but even religious people get it. They say "she was laid to rest", "eternal rest grant unto her" etc etc. Who the hell wants to "rest" if heaven is all that great ? What's there to *do* ? Get moving. Maybe St. Peter has a sign with an arrow "Recliner section this way --->>"

Insufferable know-it-all.Einstein God has a plan for us. Please stop screwing it up with your prayers.

You're not listening. Oh, I see. Well maybe we can find out what happens after your death on these forums.

Man got to sit and wonder 'why, why, why?'
Tiger got to sleep, bird got to land;
Man got to tell himself he understand.”

Slipknot banned?! Well, it's about time. Thumbsup

Well, at least I had the privilege of giving him his last negative reputation point.
