Question Would you murder 1 person for a utopia on earth?
Would you murder one innocent person if it meant that from here on out, for all time, there would be no murder, rape, assault, theft, corruption, etc? Everything else in society and nature is the same.

Whether it's due to alien intervention, or some some sort of rational scientific psychological explanation, the logistics doesn't matter.

Would you accept that deal?

If not, how to you rationalize killing/torturing present/future billions over 1 person?
If yes, at what number would you stop at?

Theism is to believe what other people claim, Atheism is to ask "why should I".

Depends who it is.

I don't talk gay, I don't walk gay, it's like people don't even know I'm gay unless I'm blowing them.

We're never actually given such clear, stark choices in real life, so such a hypothetical is not something that can be answered. I don't know if I could bring myself to do it, but if such certainty about the outcomes from this choice were actually possible, I'd have to consider seriously killing one person to save billions. The morality of the choice is complicated by this murder being committed against someone that is not the direct cause of any of these woes that the murder is supposed to prevent. I imagine I would be filled with so much doubt about the real outcome of my decision to kill someone that I couldn't actually do it.

Utopia actually is a false paradise that's still effed up, so not at all.

For a legit, "Eden on earth" type of place. Sure id kill Jesus or some guy to create it out of his ribs.
