We don't have 220V in the wall outlets like the UK. The kettles in the UK will boil water damn fast!

We have one. Drinking Beverage <--- pretend that's a cuppa tea. Thumbsup Heating water up in the microwave is primitive. The electric kettle is also much safer. If one isn't careful, the water can superheat and spooge into one's face when the cup is being removed from the microwave. Steam burns aren't pretty.

I use the microwave for the occasional cup of tea. Mostly I just use the Keurig or the French press for my coffee. On the rare occassion that I want a decent cup of tea, I boil water on the stove and use my teapot.

If you like French Press you'll like the AeroPress.

Fauncy!

We have a Keurig coffemaker, but after I discovered black mold growing in the water tank, that thing sits in the garage. Gasp Couldn't figure out why I felt like shit all the time, then spotted that little gem. Felt better after sidelining it. I have to figure out a way to make it mysteriously disappear...my wife can't bear to throw anything out. Facepalm

They make cleaners for Keurigs. I run some of the cleaning solution through my machine every once in awhile.

We use toasters, but we don't drink a lot of tea so there isn't much need for an electric kettle.
