"Xtian" or "Xian" or "Xn" is older than you think.
I first heard these terms on TTA. I was please at the wit that was inherent in them; however, I did not know that the terms were much older than the Internet age.

In 1903, Mark Twain wrote a diatribe over Mary Baker Eddy's Christian Science. Harper's refused to publish it, so Twain wrote, "The situation is not barren of humour. I had been doing my best to show
in print that the Xn Scientist cult has become a power in the land –
well, here is the proof: it has scared the biggest publisher in the
Union."

Perhaps. He's chumming it up with Pastor Whitehead over at his new office.

But on topic (I think). I've seen the X used in Xmas long before the internet existed. So that leads me to assume that the internet didn't create xian or xn.

Neat, did not know that. I had known that it was because of the Greek- but I didn't know much more than that.
