That is so cool if it's true! I mean, once the Arctic is Ice Free, the Polar Bear will probably die off and mankind will be finally rid of this menace.

Also, think of all the new fishing and mining opportunities that will become available as the Arctic warms! And...there will already be cheap and desperate labor force in place (i.e., the Eskimos) just begging to do these low-paid, dangerous jobs. Finally, after being frozen out for so long, the arctic could become a cornucopia of wealth.

Also, warmer Arctic Weather may allow us an opportunity to build isolated Waste Dumps capable of containing the most toxic chemical and nuclear waste society has produced. Finally, a place to get rid of all that dangerous filth.

We are living in remarkable times.

HA! Polar Bear can't swim! One more killer-bear dead!

This is indeed great news. Just think about all the oil we could be drilling for if there wasn't all that ice in the way.

You should see all the bases being setup under the guise of research when it really is all about land grabs and oil exploration.

Don't get me wrong. I'm sure the scientists intentions are pure and they love what they do, though pure research isn't why governments are funding this shit.

You are capable of looking up, checking things yourself right?

We have discovered reasonable evidence for the presence of hydrocarbon sources there. It's attracting allot of international attention.

Another ice age? We're still in the last ice age.

Give me your argument in the form of a published paper, and then we can start to talk.

Capable and motivated. Just didn't know where to begin, and was sleepy. I appreciate the help.

I've heard this much before, but without much detail. 40-second spots on NPR news and such.
