Yet another shooting
This time it in England.
https://www.yahoo.com/news/british-labou...36804.html

Quote:LONDON (AP) — A lawmaker who campaigned for Britain to stay in the European Union was killed Thursday by a gun- and knife-wielding attacker in her small-town constituency, a tragedy that brought the country's fierce, divisive referendum campaign to a shocked standstill.

Where did he get the gun?

RE: Yet another shooting
Eye witnesses suggest that he had an old gun. There are still weapons kicking around from WWII and before. My own granddad swapped a bag of sweets for a gun in the school playground. He took it back home and was told by his parents to promptly get rid of it. My granddad was annoyed because he'd now lost an entire bag of sweets.

NPR said it was possible it was a homemade gun....

They're pretty easy to build --- and the simplest? --- A submachine gun.

It got the fewest parts of any repeating firearm...

Do an image search for "DIY gun" or "homemade gun".

There are some disturbingly creative people out there...

It seems that the suspect purchased some books from the US based National Alliance, including a manual on how to make a homemade gun.

The killer was another 'friendly but loner' type who has mental health issues and the results of a court ordered psychiatric examination should be known to authorities soon. I've seen no mention of drug or alcohol use. Just another tribal nutter, but his obsession was nationalism instead of Islamism.

"Bernard Kenny, 77, blew a kiss to wife Doreen to assure her he was okay while he lay injured on a cafe floor after the Labour MP was shot and stabbed in the fatal attack." (Metro)

These events are rare in the UK compared to the USA largely because of reasonably sensible gun laws.

A fund set up in Ms Cox's memory has raised more than £600,000 (so far) for causes which her family and friends said were close to her heart.
