You Are More Likely To Be Shot If There Is A Gun in The Home
Let's examine the subject statement.

Is it true? Yes, I suspect statistics would bear this out.

Does it mean you shouldn't have a gun in your home???? Welllll.......

Consider.

The statement while true, is a bit misleading.

The implication is you are more likely to be killed if there is a gun is in the home, but that's not the true statement. You are more likely to be shot.

If you don't have a gun, you're more likely to be poisoned, stabbed, strangled or bludgeoned to death.

It's not about the likelihood of an act being committed. It's about available methodology.

If you live in a high rise, you're more likely to use the elevator than climb 30 flights of stairs. While both the elevator and stairs get you home, you use the easier method.

When you realize that anti- gun statisticians take suicide by handgun into account, it,'s easy to see where they come up with such misleading statements as the subject line.

Did anyone say anything about self- defense or criminals???

Nope.

Not a bit. That goes in a different thread.

Stick to the subject line.

I was going to predict you'd resort to insults, but gave you the benefit of the doubt.

I figured you would take the high road and simply quit posting.

Thanks for exceeding my expectations.

Stick to the subject line.

The subject line says nothing about poisoning, stabbing, strangling or bludgeoning. Nor does it say anything about being killed as you pointed out immediately before listing ways to be killed. That's called shooting yourself in the foot. an idiom that seems appropriate.

I suppose that we can only use those words which are in the subject line, to the exclusion of all others?

Petty word games aren't a valid argument.

He dodges the false equivalence issue as usual.
