Yep. Impermanence and the reality of death are part of buddhism teaching. Real buddhists don't deny the reality of death.

Dalai Lama talks about rainbow body in his books.

Is he a Buddhist?

Dzogchen is mainstream Tibetan Buddhism.

You propose searching for an unattainable goal. It's a quixotic venture. Buddhism is all about getting rid of the quixotic part.

Some people argue that Tibet buddhism isn't real buddhism. Tibet buddhism is a mix of Hinduism with old Tibet Bon religion and some elements of buddhism. Dalai Lama in all his books discuss the reality of impermance and death. He never claim his followers will never die with the practice of that woo. I don't give a shit of what the Dalai Lama says anyway. He is not the pope of buddhism. He is only the leader of his sect. I have studied buddhism in the past reading the nikayas but in the end I can't accept the karma and rebirth nonsense. But no, real buddhists are aware of the reality of impermance and death. This elements are buddhism 101. Stop the bullshit please.

A body made of light.

Even Sam Harris is a long time student of Dzogchen. He promotes initiation into Dzogchen in his book "Waking Up" and podcasts. Although I don't think he mentions the rainbow body part.

There is also a lesser form of rainbow body where the corpse shrinks to the size of a dinner plate or completely disappears, leaving behind only the fingernails and hair. This occurs when one doesn't complete the path while alive. So this result is much more common.

On the other hand, Donald Trump needs to die.
