"You little atheist"
Last night, after midnight, and as it was 24th here at the point, I sent merry christmas to my friends on facebook. I mean personalized to specific friends.
So today I come online, just for a quick check. Mainly in case my mom needs something or wants to talk, because she is pretty much alone today and probably wants to talk. I find an answer to my "merry christmas" from a very christian friend (friend of many many years). We are and have always been very good friends, and neither her christianity nor my atheism comes up usually. We agree to disagree and that is it. But exactly she sent me a message: "Well thanks, but what are you celabrating today, you little atheist." I am sure she meant it funny but I did not receive it funny. Here the rest of the short conversation: Me: "Christmas is no christian holiday" She: "Yes but it is being celabrated like it" Me: "Mistake by the church. Doesn't mean I have to celebrate it that way" She: "I don't care how you celebrate it, main thing, gifts!" Da fuck? Gifts are exactly not what it is about if you celabrate it in a christian way. We continued talking about what we wanna do today: Eat cookies, drink cocoa, have gingerbread and eat more cookies. Eat well in the evening, etc... Basically food food food. Also a very christian way to celebrate Christmas, I guess... *sarcasm intended* BTW we are not fighting over it. We kept talking about other stuff at that point.
