RE: You're all just mad at god...
There is no god to hate...but I can work myself into quite a lather over the fucking morons who claim to "follow" him....whichever "him" it may be.

Atheism is NOT a Religion. It's A Personal Relationship With Reality!

To be fair if god would have existed there would have been countless reason to be angry with him.

The first revolt is against the supreme tyranny of theology, of the phantom of God. As long as we have a master in heaven, we will be slaves on earth.

Mikhail Bakunin.

I am angry with god in the same way that I am angry with other villains in fiction.

See here they are the bruises some were self-inflicted and some showed up along the way. - JF

Lots of replies here made me grin so much my cheeks now hurt! Big Grin

My favorite reply to the "mad at God" claptrap is, "No, I haven't been angry at God since I gave up religion. I'm a recovering Christoholic; 22 years, Jesus-free!"

"Theology made no provision for evolution. The biblical authors had missed the most important revelation of all! Could it be that they were not really privy to the thoughts of God?" - E. O. Wilson

The best reply I've heard goes something like " You're the one who believes, it's you who should be mad."

RE: You're all just mad at god...
For some persons, atheists can be confusing. When we discuss the morality of God, we are quick and very efficient at pointing out his monstrous behaviors and condemning them. To a theist, it looks like hatred and anger. The only thing they forget, is that this «hatred and anger» isn't directed at a real character. Atheists hate God like they hate Voldemort, Sauron or the villain in Rambo II. It shows that for some theist, the idea of not believing in God is so alien that they can't even imagine correctly how someone can do it. As a socialist, I was asked why I hate big businesses. The truth is I don't. I am just critical of a system to organise businesses. As a feminist, I was asked why I hate men. The truth is I don't. I am a men, I like my fellow men (and being one), but I am critical of a social structure and gender stereotypes. In all those domains, I faced the same issue. People are quick to confuse critique with dislike or even hatred and sometimes struggle to put themselves in someone else shoes. That's why I don't really mind the comment even if it's a bit slanderous.

Nobody has ever said that to me.

So glad I live in Australia where most people simply don't care.

NOTE: Member, Tomasia uses this site to slander other individuals. He then later proclaims it a joke, but not in public.
I will call him a liar and a dog here and now.

ah, the classic appeal to emotion fallacy that also stems from (in this case) inability to comprehend that denial of existence =/= being mad at something.

also to add, critiquing something doesn't also necessarily mean hatred, though arguably it can be so regarding yahweh, as he is portrayed to be a complete dick head in the bible anyways. it's not like asimov said "bible is the most potent force for atheism" for nothing.

Classic... total classic!

Augh, it doesn't let me start the clip at 52 seconds, like I wanted to do.

So for the joke, just fast-foward to 52 seconds, please. Smile
