Totally said the same thing when this post came up!

Wind's in the east, a mist coming in
Like something is brewing and about to begin
Can't put my finger on what lies in store
but I feel what's to happen has happened before...

Well, I think a lot of the ones I've like have already been mentioned.

But I can say that banned has-been Mark Dreher really loved Enemy at the Gates. Donnu why, must have a crush on Jude Law or something. The movie itself has many inaccurate displays of history, but the music was good, Ed Harris is always cool and the suspenseful sniper scenes work pretty well.

"Gone with the wind" is a good classical movie.

Jesus Christ Superstar

"When the stage production opened in October, 1971, it was criticized not only by some Jews as anti-Semitic, but also by some Catholics and Protestants as blasphemous in its portrayal of Jesus as a young man who might even be interested in sex." - The New York Times

Anytime you can offend Jews, Catholics, and Protostents at the same time while telling a non-satirical tale of Jesus, that is awesome. Tongue

Hands down, the best history movie of all time is ....... Star Wars.

Yes, Star Wars. Remember, it starts out "A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away"

A priest and a rabbi are standing on a street corner, talking, when a 10 year old boy walks by. The priest says "we should grab that kid when no one is looking, drag him into that ally, and screw him". The rabbi looks perplexed and says "out of what?".

I only got 2 with that joke. The trifecta is tough.

Just saw The Last Emperor last night, thought it was pretty good. Not sure it's my favorite historically based movie, but it might be up there. Consider
