Your Take on Life's Complexities
I consider myself an atheist and have for some time. However, I often think of the intricacies in life, such as the complexity of the human body, and wonder if such things could truly be the product of coincidence or random mutation.

What are your thoughts?

I highly recommend reading books such as The Blind Watchmaker, The Greatest Show On Earth or The Selfish Gene.

They aren't the product of coincidence or random mutation.
We are the product of cumulative change via the sieve of natural selection.

The changes that occur via mutation are tested against the environment; the ones that work survive.
This cumulative building up of working parts results in wonderfully complex organisms.

I suggest reading the works of Richard Dawkins, especially Climbing Mount Improbable.

I don't find anything so complex that cannot be accounted for by eons of time and adaptation. Do you have something specific you wonder about?

You both lose. The question was "What are your thoughts", not what are Richard Dawkins' thoughts?

RE: Your Take on Life's Complexities
My thought:
-In year 2012 we have better explanations for complexity of life than intelligent design (evolution).
- Approximately 2700 years ago when myth about Adam and Eve was written we didnt have any better explanation than intelligent design. I think people who wrote this story made fully reasonable hypothesis according to the evidence which was given 2700 years ago. But people who believe this story today are idiots or extremely badly educated.

RE: Your Take on Life's Complexities
Look up a video on folding paper. It's virtual paper that is folded on a computer over a million times and when certain parameters are set, some highly complex structures arise.

Its amazing
