RE: Your favorite soundtracks
I don't have the technology here at work to do youtube stuff, but my favorite soundtrack album is The Harder They Come -- possibly the best reggae album ever. There is a "legacy" version of this that adds a second CD with a bunch of other great reggae songs from the same time period (1960s/1970s). That version is even better.

RE: Your favorite soundtracks
Way too much anime and video-game OST to post. But as I'm listening to a piece from Zankyou no terror right now, I'll just post that.

This anime has a nice soundtrack but kinda sucks otherwise.

RE: Your favorite soundtracks
Say what you will about the movie, but the soundtrack was an otherworldly experience. Nothing composed for the Alien series up to this point even comes close.

There's a lot of emotion in this particular piece; I think it really encapsulates the exhilaration of conquest and discovery.

call it fate.”― C.G. Jung

RE: Your favorite soundtracks
I'll have to think a lot about this because I love movie soundtracks. My favorite composer is James Horner but I still love a lot of others. So here's my top 5 from just James Horner (I'll have to think about the others later):

EDIT: This is how much of a fucking soundtrack nerd I am. I had to edit this post to change around my top 5 and add in honorable mentions. I've changed this like 5 times already.

1.

2. Glory - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aE0neN9mvcY

3. Krull (one of the campiest fantasy movies ever made, and I love it) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=51vdPsLHal4

4. Willow - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Df-a0Bl0b74

5. Braveheart - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rxZcHUhQNXo

Find a dark room, a good set of speakers that go up to 11 lie down ...

Warning: For the last one at 2:53, you might want to turn it down to 10.
