The Y-donor thought it was a trick, Mom had no idea what it was about.

Earliest memory tied to history.

I don't really remember the moon landing, I was just a bit too young to give a shit.

My dad was a vietnam vet so I know it wasn't war related...

Maybe the Zodiac killer. I remember hearing the TV in the living room about a Halloween card someone got from him. They talked a little about the history and I slept with covers over my head.

Probably accurately it was the Patty Hearst kidnapping. I was in grammar school and they had us praying for her. When she robbed that bank, it was in the neighborhood where my grandparents lived. We must have walked passed the house they were all living in a few times.

But as if to knock me down, reality came around
And without so much as a mere touch, cut me into little pieces

Since then, everything that came before or after has been kind of dim . . .

He was actually elected? I thought it was just a reality TV show.

Calm yourself. DJT is just a bad LSD trip.

Shakespeare's Comedy of Errors.... on Donald J. Trump:

He is deformed, crooked, old, and sere,
Ill-fac’d, worse bodied, shapeless every where;
Vicious, ungentle, foolish, blunt, unkind,
Stigmatical in making, worse in mind.

I think I prefer the lawn full of dandelions that turned into snakes . . .

I once had this really vivid dream of a really green field covered with red, red poppies and then this huge tidal wave came and swept all over it and me. One my most favourite dreams. (I love poppies and tidal waves/tsunami dreams are my most favourite one. My free, dream therapy, as it were...)

I was 7 or 8 when 9/11 hapoened. Very strange day is all I can say. I dont remember feeling much sadness as I dont think I was really mature enough to truly grasp what had happened but I remember coming home and watching the footage with my family and it waa just eerie.

The Teebane bombing at Omagh by the Provos, I remember that well enough because we had kin in the Provos, and there was quite the heated debate in the house around it. I was only 7 at the time but I remember it pretty clearly.

My earliest memory of any historical significance was the Magnitude 6.2 1984 Morgan Hill earthquake. I was 4 years old and, yes, living in Morgan Hill.

After that, I think the next newsworthy item I remember is the Challenger explosion.

.... also, most of you old fogies make me feel young. YAY!

I agree. Although I am surprised Chas doesn't remember when Thermopylae happened. Evil_monster
