Your greatest piece of good fortune
Good fortune, luck, call it what you will.

Mine was before I was born. My mother was prescribed Thalidomide while she was carrying me but after taking a couple of doses decided that she wanted to experience a natural childbirth.
Having seen and been to school with people who have had the deformities caused by this drug I am very glad it didn't happen to me.
Thank you mum.

What about the rest of you?

I'm the 4th child. I don't believe anyone intentionally has more than 2. Therefore I believe I was an accident. Unfortunate for my parents perhaps but good news for me. Smile

First, being born.
Second, surviving aggressive cancer after having been given 6 weeks to live with a possible 2% chance of survival.

I will call him a liar and a dog here and now.

Being born could be said greatest fortune I think. Though I certainly was happy when sister brought cat to the house. Adorable little animal it was Wink

I found a diamond ring with 3 carats worth of rock in the Russian River in Sonoma County Ca in the mid 80's......

Sold it to one of the instructors at the school I was going to....

It bought beer for quite some time....

First born here. But I was the accident as my kid sister would point out when we argued. "At least I was planned." she would say.

The series of circumstances that led me to having an excellent medical team after my cancer diagnosis.

See here they are the bruises some were self-inflicted and some showed up along the way. - JF
