People there tend to be friendly and polite. It's a huge state so it is pretty varied from one area to the next.

A Texan once told me "Texas is even bigger than Australia!"

I said "Really."

Texas 696,241 km²

Australia 7.692 million km²

More room to stretch our legs and loads of great beaches all around Australia.

Just beware of the salties up north, the sharks down south, the other sharks in the middle, the snakes everywhere, the blue ringed octopus, the spiders, the killer insects.........

Great place to holiday. Be sure to bring good shoes. Wink

Bring your sunglasses. There are a lot of big ugly glass/steel buildings in the cities.

I hope you enjoy your vacation.

Yabut, I've already been to Florida a few times!
(and really, once you've seen a space launch, how can you top that?)

Well, it is almost as big geographically as northern Ontario.

36 times as many people, mind you...

Buy as many guns as fit in my pants pockets? Remember to take the Cuban goods out of my travel bag before entering the US this time?

You pretty much hit everything I was going to say. I was going to suggest not telling anyone you're an atheist, eating the biggest steak you can find to prove yourself, and to openly carry two pistols on you at all times (even if they're not loaded).

Take this advice with a lot of grains of salt, as I've never actually been to Texas.

Austin. Probably visiting San Antonio, and possibly Houston.

I keep seeing the title of this thread and thinking it sounds like the title of a children's book.

CJIR Goes to Texas

Shakespeare's Comedy of Errors.... on Donald J. Trump:

He is deformed, crooked, old, and sere,
Ill-fac’d, worse bodied, shapeless every where;
Vicious, ungentle, foolish, blunt, unkind,
Stigmatical in making, worse in mind.

Don't listen to him, cjlr - I'm from a rural area of Texas. Do I look nutso to you? Hobo
