RE: did your spouse/SO/partner lose their 'belief' after you did?
We don't talk about it much...although I do get an occasional nasty remark about being atheist. I think it's Pascal's wager and grandparent influence that keeps my husband a sort-of believer.

We have been married since 1992 and other than weddings and deadings I have never known of him to go to church or crack open a Bible. So the nasty comments don't bother me a bit.

It's pretty much a non issue with us.

I'm not anti-social. I'm pro-solitude. Sleepy

ManlyGirl still claims to be a Catholic. I said, "Yeah, next time you go to the Confessional you'll have to say 'Bless me Father for I have sinned. It's been 35 years since my last confession.' " I don't believe her. Tongue

As it was in the beginning is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
And I will show you something different from either
Your shadow at morning striding behind you
Or your shadow at evening rising to meet you;
I will show you fear in a handful of dust.

My wife and I were both disillusioned by our religion at the same time (I couldn't marry her in my RC church, which really hurt us) so we always resented religion after that. But it's only lately, 17 years later, that we gave this any real thought and both came to the conclusion we were atheists. I'm a little more strident than she is, but that's just because I always immerse myself in anything new.

Check out my atheism blog. It's just a blog, no ads, no revenue, no gods.
