freedom
I was thinking to what extent would i fight for my freedom?

Family and freinds try to influence to better me?
Islam to better me?
North korea?
Christian mind games?

When does it end? What do i do?

The host of the thinking atheists hits the nail on the head......some christians send but dont recieve...so there is ""no influence"" over them....exhausting but i guess i must fight Smile

RE: freedom
What is it that you define as freedom?

Mental freedom? Social freedom? Physical moving freedom i.e. liberty?

Mental Freedom

I would say the people of North Korea freedom to think for themselve is taken when propaganda is shoved down their throats. The mind is malleable

Freedom:
Absence of forced influence
Absence of complete free will

You're shit out of luck then.

RE: freedom
Edit: Never mind. I can't seem to word this in a way that would not be completely offensive to normal people.

I'll just leave it at this: I'll fight when doing so is more likely to lead me to being content than not fighting, and I can only think of one thing I find more rewarding than crushing my enemies.

So here's to hoping my sex life somehow returns before an opportunity to crush enemies presents itself Frusty I'm a simple creature, really, but shit still manages to be complicated.

And freedom is a state of mind.

Freedom's just another word for nothing left to lose.

Spot on. If someone wants to control you, and that someone has the ability to take something you value more than your desire to not be controlled, then you are not free. If, however, there is nothing you're not willing to sacrifice, then you are free.

It's certainly better to have the law on your side than not to, but it's no guarantee. Even something as simple as the judgement of others can be used as leverage to control you if you're not willing to sacrifice their approval in order to be free.
