greetings from the green mountains
Started posting on this forum before I realized that I hadn't introduced myself.
First, a quick bio. New England born and bred. In my Forties. A Professional. Married to my best friend and have an adult child.
Saw the TTA videos first. Loved them. Been listening to the podcasts for a couple of months. Enjoyed them. Finally got around to trolling the forum page on the web site.
The reader's digest version of my story is: I grew up with parents (and family members) who believed in god. But I didn't. Not as a conscious choice, but more like the idea of god never seemed real to me. Didn't tell anyone about it because I was the "odd man out". Tried to fix this by reading the Bible. Made it worse. Based upon what I read, I concluded that the problem was that Judiaism/Christianity was deeply flawed and a bit of a lie. I then tried exploring other main stream religions in hopes one of them would get me to believe in God. Huge failure. They were just as flawed. Read philosophers and religious thinkers in hopes they could reason God into reality. No go. Usually, their arguments would end in something akin to "well just take my word for it." Finally, admitted to myself that I simply can't base my reality on unreason, called faith. This quest for unreason ended in my early twenties. Been much happier since.

Welcome welcome, I enjoyed your intro.

By a professional do you mean prostitute?

Slow down there big fella, hippies usually have the best weed. Wink

As it was in the beginning is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
And I will show you something different from either
Your shadow at morning striding behind you
Or your shadow at evening rising to meet you;
I will show you fear in a handful of dust.
