hi
Hi!

I'm Justin.

I grew up christian by the time i was a senior in highschool felt called into ministry.

I went to bible college and then seminary. I never finished seminary because in my second year there, seeds of doubt started creeping up into my mind and i felt like i was being dishonest and so i started asking myself how i was going to be able to preach or go do mission work if i myself was having issues believing the bible.

I decided to take a short break and have some "god time" where I stepped away from academia and just focused on revitalizing my relationship with god. However, during that time I came to terms with the fact that I didnt believe anymore.

Only one person knows that i'm an atheist.

I feel a bit trapped because i'm back in the south where i'm from... and when i left this place, i left this place in order to come back a preacher ... or something idk... but now everyone knows that I went to seminary and bible college and at one time was an unashamed calvanist but.. now i dont believe anymore.

Welcome,

Hopefully you will find things that will help you figure it out around here.

Welcome to the madhouse Justin. Thanks for joining us! If you wouldn't mind, being that you are someone who's been through seminary I'd be interested in a bit more detail about where it was that you really started giving serious thought to your questioning of your faith. This thread is a good place for it (http://www.thethinkingatheist.com/forum/...on-story), or you could just post here.

Or if you'd rather hang back and just get to know us first, that's cool too.

Welcome aboard! Big Grin

But now I have come to believe that the whole world is an enigma, a harmless enigma that is made terrible by our own mad attempt to interpret it as though it had an underlying truth.

Hi Justin, welcome!
I'm new here myself, it's a great place.
I'm looking forward to hearing more from you.

Hi Justin!
