innoying
Typing on my tablet, I just created a new word: innoy / innoyance / innoying

What does it mean?

When you're forced to use something annoying voluntarily. I'll clarify.

See, I don't HAVE to have a tablet, but it sure is cool and easy. Since I don't want to have to lug around an analog keyboard for my tablet or phone, I am forced to use a virtual keyboard... which is singlehandedly one of the mostnfrustrating (how's that for irony? I decided to not delete it just to show y'all) tools in any smart device. Mobile browsing isn't annoying... it's innoying because we are choosing to expose ourselves to it or be left behind.

The word can also be used to descibe a "lesser of two evils" situation. For instance: I'm with Jane tonight. So innoyed.

So, now the reader can instantly tell that the writer had a choice and chose between which of the circumstances was the best of the worst.

Feel free to use this word from nownon... y'know... never mind.

My iPad invents words all the time. I feel your pain.

So I can describe my reading your posts as innoying? Big Grin

RE: innoying
You're too late.

innoy - verb to be irritated because someone is having more fun than you. John was innoyed with Susan because she had hooked up with 5 guys that night and he hadn't even been noticed yet.

As it was in the beginning is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
And I will show you something different from either
Your shadow at morning striding behind you
Or your shadow at evening rising to meet you;
I will show you fear in a handful of dust.

I like the way you're using the language! And I like your new term. Get that thing some traction and make it viral. Maybe one day it'll be in the dictionary?

Well done Girly, as ever, with the reference.

But I prefer KC's def.

Although I did think...

Innoy (n) one of mixed race; specifically father = Eskimo and mother= Filipina.

RE: innoying
To tell you truth I can't see the appeal of the tablet, I get mobile, it's got a nice on the go niche but not tablet...It's too big to carry everywhere, the cost of data service confines you to wiFi anyway...

Why not just get a laptop so you can run all of your big boy software and still sit in front of the TV? Why put up with a touch keyboard and an ARM processor when you could have a real computer?

...I admit that Where's My Water would be much better on tablet and the form factor is fun...but really is it work $800? Sometimes I think I'm just behind the times when I see the web trends on tablet use but every time I pick one up to test a site it annoys me.
